Today our journey to discover coffees around the world takes us to South America where we find the&nbsp;<strong>coffee de Olla<\/strong>, literally coffee in pot. Consumed hot, it is typical of small villages in the cold climate of central Mexico and the recipe involves the fermentation of coffee together with sugar and cinnamon, which are not simply added to the already prepared drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The result? A drink with a sweet but at the same time spicy taste! Discover the recipe to prepare the coffee de Olla!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"402\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bastimento.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/cafe-de-olla2_large.png\" alt=\"Caffe bastimento sanmarino\" class=\"wp-image-633\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to prepare Caf\u00e9 de Olla<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ingredients:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 227gr dark roasted coffee<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 113gr of water<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 1 stick of cinnamon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 peel of an orange<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 141gr of Piloncillo<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a small pot over medium heat, add the coffee and water along with the orange peel and the Piloncillo. The latter is often used in Mexican cuisine as a sweetener and is less known to us. If you can't find it in your trusted supermarket, you can substitute it with raw cane sugar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bring to a boil until the sugar is completely dissolved.
